Construction of a water tower in Ouanaminthe - Haiti
Olivier Girard ing. M.Sc.A
The project involved designing and building a water tower in Ouanaminthe, Haiti, to supply drinking water to 100,000 inhabitants in a seismically active area. The main challenge was to create an earthquake-resistant structure due to the mass of water at the top. An innovative solution was to design a larger reservoir, allowing the water to move freely, thus reducing seismic effects while optimizing costs and guaranteeing the system’s resilience.
